Spanish giants Real Madrid are of course well known for nabbing Man United talents and growing interest in 24 year old custodian de Gea could result in a summer bid for his services.

De Gea is arguably the most consistent member of Louis van Gaal’s squad and the chance to return to his hometown could tempt the former Atletico Madrid man, especially if Man United once again fail to secure a Champions League berth.

Man United are keen to tie down de Gea to a new deal, with his current contract running until 2016, but efforts to do so are currently stalling.

Real Madrid star Iker Casillas has returned to the starting eleven after 18 months warming the bench but the 33 year old hasn’t impressed and de Gea appears to be a player Carlo Ancelotti covets as a long term replacement.

Man United paid £17.8m for de Gea in 2011 and after a stuttering start to his Premier League career the Spaniard has matured into one of the best in the business.

Real Madrid have previously brought in the likes of David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo from Man United and are keen to repeat the trick next summer.
