Gunners lining up move for the impressive Marcelo Brozovic.

Arsenal are weighing up a £5 million January move for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic after sending scouts to the San Siro to watch him in action against Italy, report the Mirror, as the young playmaker impressed as his side held the Azzurri to a 1-1 draw in a tempestuous atmosphere in Milan.

Brozovic has been linked with Arsenal for a number of weeks after emerging as one of the most impressive young midfielders in European football, very much in the mould of Croatian international teammates Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic, with the Balkan nation having become experts in producing talented playmakers.

A part of the Dinamo team who have dominated Croatian domestic football in recent years and have faced Celtic in the Europa League group stage this season, Brozovic looks certain to move on either in January at the end of the season, whether to Arsenal or somewhere else in the major European leagues.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly wants a deep-lying midfield player to bolster his squad ahead of the underwhelming Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini – but Brozovic is very much in the creative mould, rather than being the destructive player that fans have been demanding.
