The 30 year old is fully fit after his lengthy lay-off through illness but has failed to force his way into Louis van Gaal’s first team set-up on a regular basis.
Fletcher’s Old Trafford contract expires in the summer and appears unlikely to win a new deal and may well be set to leave the club he has represented since the age of 11.
Louis van Gaal has handed Fletcher just three Premier League starts and the arrivals of Daley Blind and Ander Herrera as well as the return to form of Marouane Fellaini may well make the experienced campaigner surplus to requirements.
Darren Fletcher has made 334 appearances for Man United but hasn’t been a first team regular for the best part of four seasons.
