The San Siro side are ready to allow the veteran Serbian to leave in January following a series of poor displays since moving
to the Italian side.

The 33 year old is seen by Louis van Gaal as the man to help solidify his Man United defence which has struggled this term and new Inter boss Roberto Mancini does not see the exprienced centre-back as part of his plans.

It would apparently only take a nominal fee to secure Vidic’s capture and it may prove a move that helps get Man United’s push for a coveted top four finish back on track.

New signing Marcos Rojo is still adapting to life in the Premier League whilst Phil Jones has struggled with injuries and Jonny Evans has been in poor form.

Van Gaal has had to throw youngsters Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett in at the deep end at times this term and will happily welcome Vidic back to the club he represented for nine seasons.
