The reports originate from Fichajes.net, and claim that the Gunners are keen to either have first option on the Argentine, or to sign him and immediately loan him out to another club for a season or two.

The 21-year-old has been labelled the “new Gonzalo Higuain” due to his finishing ability, and is apparently one of the most exciting footballers in South America. He has scored five goals in 19 matches for Boca and is also prolific with assists.

If he were to sign for the North London club then Arsene Wenger’s plan for the youngster would be to immediately send him out on loan for a season or two, in the same manner as they did with Carlos Vela and Joel Campbell. The mixed success of these two would be a warning of what can go wrong with this kind of deal.

Meanwhile, Arsenal face one of their biggest games of the season on Saturday against Manchester United. They will be looking for a win to get their campaign back on track after some poor results before the international break.
