Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan defender Adil Rami this January as Louis van Gaal looks to strengthen his back four, according to the Daily Star.

The Red Devils could do with more options at centre-back after a difficult start to the season, with van Gaal’s side leaking goals and suffering a number of injuries to key players in that part of the pitch.
Rami has been linked with top clubs before after impressing in La Liga with Valencia, though he has not quite found his best form since joining Milan this season.
The French international initially moved to the San Siro on loan before earning himself a permanent move to the Italian club, but their change of manager this season has seen him fall out of favour in the starting lineup.
It is now claimed that Milan would be open to selling Rami this January, which has put United on alert as they will no doubt be keen to wrap up a deal for an experienced defensive player for relatively cheap.
The 28-year-old may be keen to move as he will want to be playing regularly to put himself in contention for his national side.
