Walcott was extremely impressive during his cameo appearance against Burnley, but looks to be left waiting to make his full return to the Premier League.
The news will come as a huge blow, as not only were fans looking forward to seeing the return of the 25-year-old, but this news also comes on the back of an announcement that Danny Welbeck is unlikely to feature either.
Olivier Giroud has returned from injury and could make an appearance, but Wenger may not want to rush his compatriot back into first team action.
Walcott may be fit to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League next Wednesday, but his fitness will need to be monitored carefully.
