The Argentine forward has spent his entire career so far at the Nou Camp, rising from the club’s famed La Masia youth academy to become regarded as one of the best players of all time.

Still, Messi has suffered something of a dip in form over the last year or so, and recent quotes suggested he could consider offers to leave Barcelona for a new challenge in the near future.

Manchester City and Chelsea have previously been mentioned as possible suitors for the 27-year-old, though Manchester United’s name has now also been added to his list of admirers.

Still, Enrique believes there is little to the story and has moved to calm talk that his star player could be heading out of the club, saying that Messi is perfectly happy with life in the Catalan capital.

“I’ve only heard Leo saying that he is delighted at Barca and that there is no problem at all,” he said.

“I am not interested in the speculation and the opinions. I just hear the message from him that he is happy and proud to play for Barca.”

United have shown some considerable strength in the transfer market of late, bringing in big names such as Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao this summer, though even they might struggle to afford Messi.
