The Metro are reporting that Chelsea are looking to sign Croatian striker Andrej Kramaric.

The paper cite quotes from Atalanta chief executive Pierpaolo Marino, who has said that his club are no longer interested in signing Kramaric, because Chelsea have joined the race for the striker.

The 23-year-old is hot property in Europe, especially after netting a sensational hatrick against Feyenoord in the Europa League last month.

Chelsea are well stocked with strikers at the moment, with Didier Drogba and Loic Remy backing up Diego Costa. Questions over Drogba’s long term future mean that Chelsea are always on the lookout for a new backup, especially with Remy and Costa’s poor injury records.

Kramaric is a real poacher, which has lead to the comparisons with legendary Italian goalscorer Pippo Inzaghi. Spurs were also reportedly in the race for the Croatian, but may also back off now the Blues are interested.

The former Dinamo Zagreb striker has an incredible goalscoring record, netting 37 goals in 38 games for HNK Rijeka, and has four Croatia caps.
