The Bundesliga boss revealed that he would be open to a switch to the Premier League, stating that it was the only country he would consider managing in other than Germany.

With Arsene Wenger thought to be nearing the end of his time at Arsenal, the board are evaluating possible targets in anticipation of life without the Frenchman. Klopp is thought to be high on their list, and it seems a deal to bring him to the Emirates is very much on the cards.

“I think it’s the only country I think where I should work, next to Germany,” Klopp said.

“It’s the only country I know the language a little bit and I need the language for my work.

“If somebody will call me, then we will talk about it.”

Wenger has been with Arsenal for 18 years now, and is far and away the longest serving manager in the Premier League.

Klopp is one of the frontrunners to land the job, although Everton’s Roberto Martinez is also being touted. The top target is thought to be Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola however, with the former Barcelona boss saying before how much he wanted to work in England.
