Welbeck netted the first senior hat-trick of his career shortly after joining Arsenal, netting three times against Galatasaray in the Champions League. He has also scored five times in the Premier League this season, although he has struggled for goals in his last few games.
The 23-year-old slotted straight into the side due to Olivier Giroud’s injury, but may find his place under threat as the Frenchman has recently returned to training ahead of schedule.
Welbeck offers something different up front, with his pace something that Giroud just can’t match.
