Liverpool Ready To Spend £10m On Championship Winger In An Attempt To Save Their Season

Reds set to bid for Norwich City star Nathan Redmond.

Liverpool have their scouts assessing young Norwich City and England Under 21 winger Nathan Redmond ahead of a potential £10 million January move, report the Daily Star, as manager Brendan Rodgers and have stuff look to put together a January rescue package that can salvage what has been a disastrous season for the Anfield club so far.

Redmond has been an important part of Neil Adams’ side as they look to challenge for immediate promotion back to the Premier League and also impressed somewhat in the top flight after moving to Carrow Road from Birmingham City, although the amount of money that Liverpool would have to invest in the young winger make a potential move a huge risk.

There is also a question mark over whether a move for the fleet-footed winger would really address the root causes of Liverpool’s malaise during 2014/15 so far, with Redmond’s attributes largely being those that Liverpool already possess in the shape of wonderkid Raheem Sterling.

Signing Redmond would give Brendan Rodgers an additional attacking option and injection of pace, however, whilst would also allow him to rotate Sterling more if Liverpool are able to progress in the Champions League into the new year.
