The Argentine superstar has been one of the world’s best players for many years now, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time after a glittering career at the Nou Camp.
Still, there has been recent talk that Messi could be set to quit the club due to allegations of tax fraud against him in Spain, which could even lead to a prison sentence.
This has alerted top clubs to his availability, though he would no doubt still cost an absolutely astonishing fee, with £200m the quoted price at the moment.
Still, City are hugely ambitious and feel the 27-year-old would be worth the investment as they look to make the step up and build a side that can truly challenge for the Champions League.
