Stamford Bridge number one says former first choice is frustrated with life at the club.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has claimed that his understudy – and former first choice Blues stopper – Petr Cech, is currently unhappy with his new role at the club, according to the Daily Star.

The Belgian international has displaced the veteran Czech stopper upon his return from three years on loan with Atletico Madrid, with Jose Mourinho installing the 22-year-old as his undisputed number one.

Cech’s only Premier League appearance came when he came on as a sub for Courtois, who suffered a head injury against Arsenal.

However, Cech has also started in the club’s domestic cup campaigns as well as two Champions League fixtures, but has been tipped to make a move away in the new year. Jose Mourinho, though, has insisted that he has received no offers for the reported Arsenal target.

And Courtois gave an insight into his rival’s mindset and the camaraderie they enjoy at training.

“We train really well together now, talking a lot about things that can happen in a game.

“It’s a nice relationship.

“I understand that, maybe, he’s not happy he doesn’t play a lot and that’s normal. I would be the same. But we get on well.

“At Atletico, the No2s would not always speak to me. It wasn’t jealousy, more frustration, but it meant we didn’t get on well.

“That’s a pity because, normally, the goalkeepers are just alone working together. It’s not like that here.”
