Galatasaray coach Cesare Prandelli left Sneijder on the bench against Trabzonspor on Saturday, with the Dutch international making a late substitute appearance as his side crashed to a 3-0 defeat.

The 30-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, and after this latest snub his agent Guido Albers has revealed that talks will be held regarding his future.

“I do not know why he was sitting on the bench,” he said.

“We’ll have talks with the board on Wednesday in Brussels. We’re going to speak about Wesley and we’ll discuss this important event.

“I really do not know why he did not start in the team. Sneijder wants to stay, but he continues to sit on the bench. Nobody wants to sit on the bench.”

Man United boss Louis van Gaal is known to be a big fan of the playmaker, and will surely welcome the news that he is considering an exit from Turkey.

He looked out of reach for the Premier League side after it emerged that he had agreed a loan move to AC Milan in January, but that deal seems to have fallen through; if it ever existed at all.
