Emirates Stadium side chase experienced midfield maestro.
Arsenal target Joao Moutinho has put in an AS Monaco transfer request according to the Metro.
The 28 year old Portuguese international is reportedly unhappy at the Stade Louis II side and looks set for a possible January exit.
The £30m rated midfielder is seen as a possible replacement for veteran Gunners skipper Mikel Arteta and could well be just what Arsene Wenger could be looking for to help get his side’s season back on track.
Moutinho moved to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the summer of 2013 and helped his side to a runners-up finish last term but has since seen team-mate James Rodriguez leave for Real Madrid and could be tempted to leave the principality outfit.
A move to the Premier League may tempt Moutinho and he could offer Wenger a more rounded performer in the centre of the park than either Arteta or Mathieu Flamini.
