Arsene Wenger has previously been linked with an £6m bid for the 22 year old playmaker and had scouts in attendance to see the midfielder on show for Croatia against Italy earlier this month.

Brozovic can be used in a defensive midfield role as well as in a more advanced role but his Dinamo Zagreb executive director Zdravko Mamic insists any interested party would have to dig deep to land the youngster, stating;

“We have no offers,” he told sportski.net.

“If someone wants one of our key players, it can only be with a memorable bid, if they knock me off my feet [an offer too good to refuse]. That is my principle. And the numbers appearing in the media do not interest us.”

Brozovic may be seen as a potential long term replacement for veteran Gunners skipper Mikel Arteta.
