The wonderkid’s future hangs in the balance as big names close in…

Europe’s eyes have been on Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard since he made his debut for his country in August, and the reported attention from major clubs now appears to have materialised.

As well as being a top prospect, both United and Read will enjoy the healthy publicity boost that will come with being the team that snaps up a prospect as well known and sought after as Odegaard.

While reports of a bid have not been confirmed by Stromsgodset, it seems unlikely that he will be staying in Norwegian football much longer.

The attacking-midfielder has had trials and United and at Bayern Munich, but more recent reports hinted that he might stay in Norway until he turns 18.

The youngster competed in his first ever league season this year, and his 5 goals in 23 games lead to a callup from the national side. He is the youngest player ever to appear in a European Championship qualifier.

Odegaard was too young to appear in Football Manager 2015, until his father wrote a message to the game’s creators which allowed them to add him in to the popular football management simulation.
