The former Liverpool keeper believes the club’s American owners would not think twice about sacking the Northern Irishman, stating;

“If he doesn’t do anything in another three weeks, I think the Americans [owners Fenway Sports Group] could do something about it,”

“I have always backed Brendan Rodgers but quite frankly, lately, I am starting to slip away.”

Whilst it’s true Liverpool haven’t come close to replicating last season’s form it would be incredibly harsh if Rodgers lost his job.

Indeed the loss of Luis Suarez was always likely to lead to something of a struggle and having Daniel Sturridge out for most of the season hasn’t helped matters.

Rodgers’ new signings will need to step up their game as Liverpool look to put their push for a top four finish back on track whilst hopes of a spot in the Champions League knockout stages have not entirely evaporated.
