Real Madrid Beat Arsenal To Spanish Wonderkid

Another Spanish youngster looks set to join the stockpile at Real Madrid.

Arsenal’s frustrating season looks set to continue, as one of their major targets today confirmed his move to Real Madrid.

The Gunners have been chasing Marco Asensio for some time, but were never going to have a clear shot at the Mallorca winger, who was linked with Barcelona, Chelsea and Villareal too.

Marca report that the player’s move to Real is now a done deal for a fee of €3.5m, with the Balearic club knocking €1m off the youngster’s release clause so that they can keep him for the rest of the season.

Moving to the Bernabeu is always a risky move, with no guarantee of any playing time at all. Marca report that the youngster will remain in Mallorca for the rest of the season and join up with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the summer for pre-season training. The Italian coach will then assess the player and decide whether to include him in his squad or let him go on loan for the 2015/2016 season.

Arsene Wenger has a reputation for developing  young talent, and would have hoped to have been able to offer the youngster more football than he will get at Real. However the Spaniard has elected to stay in his home country and try his luck at breaking into the Real Madrid side.
