The best XI of players not in their natural positions.
Every now and again in football a player will be asked to take up a role other than their own for the good of the team. Every player in this line up in in their wrong position, but has crucially fulfilled the role at some point during their careers. How do you think this team would fare?
GK: John Terry
Terry took over in between the sticks during the final minutes of a game vs Reading back in 2006 and even managed to keep a clean sheet.
LB: Cesar Azpilicueta
The Spaniard is now Chelsea’s established left-back, despite playing the entirety of his career on the opposite side of the defence.
CB: Michael Carrick
Carrick is a frequent makeshift centre-back for the Red Devils, even though him being there often means panic stations.
CB: Nacho Monreal
The left-back has been shifted into the middle of the back line to help soothe Arsenal’s ongoing injury crisis.
RB: Craig Gardner
During his time with Villa, the central midfielder was often deployed at right-back by then manager Martin O’Neill.
