The 32-year-old is a free agent since leaving Barcelona this summer, with the expected to sign for Manchester United having spent time training with the club recently.
It now appears that they have parted ways however, reports from Spain confirming that Valdes will certainly not be signing for United any time soon.
Valdes may be unwilling to join a club where he will be nothing more than a spectator, and with David de Gea in such fine form that is more than a possibility.
The former Barcelona shot-stopper has no doubt gone on the hunt for a club where he will be the undisputed No.1, with a number of top teams showing interest at one time or another.
