The 24 year old has failed to impress since his £16m move to Anfield over the summer and one imagines that a good offer would be considered by the Merseyside outfit.

The former Man City man hasn’t scored in in nine Premier League appearances and boss Brendan Rodgers may look to sign a more effective goal-scoring weapon in January and could therefore boost his transfer funds with any sum accrued from Balotelli’s sale.

Rickie Lambert has scored in back to back fixtures and as such may have forced himself ahead of Balotelli in the striking pecking order which could further the chances of the Italian being sold.

Balotelli proved effective during his time at AC Milan and as such Rafa Benitez could feel that despite his flaws the Liverpool striker could aid his San Paolo attack.

Napoli currently sit in third spot in Serie A with pair Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon both in good form though Benitez may feel Balotelli could further strengthen his front-line.
