The Man United boss has told the 26 year old “you’re not fit enough for the Premier League” and will seek to sell the midfielder in a cut-price deal when the transfer window reopens.

Man United paid FC Porto £26m for Anderson in 2007 and he hasn’t come close to justifying that fee and is no longer a part of the club’s first team plans.

Anderson has flattered to deceive in recent seasons and the summer arrivals of Ander Herrera and Daley Blind, as well as the resurgence of Marouane Fellaini, has effectively curtailed his stuttering Man United career.

One imagines a fee way below half that paid by Man United would not be accepted by the Premier League side.

Anderson has made a total of 179 appearances for the Man United and has scored nine goals.
