Vicente Calderon side want Etihad Stadium attacker.
Atletico Madrid are readying a January bid for Man City striker Stevan Jovetic according to talkSPORT.
The Montenegrin moved to the Etihad Stadium in July 2013 in a £22m deal but made just two Premier League starts in his debut season at the club.
Jovetic has found regular action easier to come by in 2014/15 but even still the cultured attacker has less than half Man City’s Premier League fixtures this season and has been subbed on every occasion he has been named in Manuel Pellegrini’s starting eleven.
Vicente Calderon boss Diego Simeone has sent scouts to track Jovetic this season is keen to land the former Fiorentina man and may feel the need to beef up his attack having not ably filled the void left by the exit of Diego Costa to Chelsea.
Atletico Madrid brought in Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich over the summer and the Croatian has done reasonably well Simeone may still feel the need to strengthen in January.
