Austin has been in blistering form this season, scoring for the seventh time this weekend during his side’s 3-2 victory over Leicester City.

This has prompted Harry Redknapp and QPR to offer the 25-year-old a new £50,000 per week contract, in the hopes of holding onto their star striker.

The prolific forward has just 18 months left on his current contract, and QPR will want to avoid letting him get into the last year of his deal.

Liverpool and Tottenham are thought to be monitoring the situation, with both teams struggling for goals this season.

Redknapp is convinced that Austin will remain at Loftus Road however, and is confident that he will put pen to paper and sign an extension to his current deal.
