Arsenal made it three wins in a row in all competitions, snatching a late winner against Southampton…

Arsenal left it late to beat Southampton on Wednesday, with golden boy Alexis Sanchez popping up with the winner two minutes from time. The result was harsh on the Saints, and especially goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who made several superb saves.

After an extremely even first-half, Arsenal began to ramp up the pressure in the second-half, and were unlucky not to take the lead with this superb move. Olivier Giroud back-heeled to Danny Welbeck, who forced a fine save from Forster, with the Frenchman unable to get to the rebound.

Substitute Giroud continued to impress, and forced arguably the save of the season with this header. Watch as England international Forster, almost in slow motion, reaches back to push the ball away.

The crucial moment arguably came with eight minutes remaining, when Toby Alderweireld limped off, leaving Southampton – who had used all their substitutes – to defend with ten men. And sure enough, Arsenal made their advantage pay, forcing home the winner with just moments remaining.
