Gunners plot moves for five Premier League-based players.
Arsenal could be looking close to home as they seek to solve the problems in their squad this January, with Arsene Wenger seemingly eyeing up five Premier League-based players for the upcoming transfer window, according to various recent reports.
The Gunners have not had the best of starts to the season so far, though their form has picked up somewhat in the last few games, and this has led Wenger to seek a number of new additions to strengthen different areas of his squad.
Although attacking signings such as Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck from the summer have been largely successful, the team is certainly still lacking in the other half of the pitch, with defence and defensive midfield clearly a priority for the north London giants this winter.
Read on to see the five players who could be heading to the Emirates Stadium this January if Arsenal’s aims go according to plan:
With Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere out injured, it’s no surprise to see Arsenal linked with a midfielder, and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin looks to be one of Arsene Wenger’s top targets in a £15m move, though Manchester United and Liverpool are also said to be watching the Frenchman.
