Arnold says the losses of Abbas and Gameiro have left his side short of quality on the left hand side, and the former Socceroos boss is keen to look overseas for replacements.

“With Corey and Ali gone our left side is a bit light,” Arnold is quoted as saying by AAP.

“We’ve contacted our network of overseas agents. We’ve only got three foreigners here at the moment. We do have an area to use two more.

“We’re talking to people every day and doing our due diligence on them to make sure they are the right sort of player for us.”

Sydney FC hope to welcome back marquee man Marc Janko for the clash with Melbourne Victory next week, while Sasa Ognenovski will be monitored over the week after he missed yesterday’s match with a hip complaint.
