Gunners new-boy loving Emirates Stadium life.
Arsenal’s summer signing Alexis Sanchez says he is enjoying life in the Premier League and that he believes this Gunners side is as good as the Barcelona team he played in, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The Chilean forward became Arsenal’s second most expensive signing of all time when he moved to the club from Barca this summer, and he has settled instantly to become one of Arsene Wenger’s side’s most important players, and a stand-out performer in the English top flight this term.
Sanchez was a little slower to adapt at the Nou Camp, only really hitting top form in his final season with the club, but his adaptation to the English game has been very rapid, which he believes is down to both the style of play in the Premier League and the quality of the players with him at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite playing alongside world greats such as Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta at the Nou Camp, Sanchez says Arsenal are just as good on a player-by-player basis.
“Arsenal play beautiful football,” he said. “But Barcelona play in a way that no other team in the world does.
“English football is more direct, more end to end, but I like that. It suits the way I want to play.
“My team-mates have helped me adapt. If my team-mates were not so good, then I would not have done so well. It is that easy.
“The quality here is impressive. You only need to take a glance around [a training session] to see that. It is the same level, more or less, as there was at Barcelona. We do different things in training, but player for player, it is just about the same.”
