Stamford Bridge side target Inter Milan forward.
Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close eye on Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi with a view to a bid for the Argentine international according to the TuttoMercato.
The 21 year old has started the current campaign well but given his San Siro side sit in the bottom half of the Serie A table one imagines the speedy striker could be tempted by a move to Premier League table topping Chelsea.
Icardi has netted eight goals in 12 Serie A starts and may be seen as a useful addition to Jose Mourinho’s squad, not least as clearly Didier Drogba is not a long term option, and Mourinho’s links with his former club could aid a move for the forward if new boss Roberto Mancini is open to such a sale.
Inter Milan would apparently demand £14m for Icardi which seems a fee the Blues could easily afford and of course should the west London side make the move in January the South American would be eligible for Champions League action in the new year.
