Old Trafford boss looks to calm expectations.
Louis van Gaal has moved to ease anticipation of a top four finish after a run of good form by stating that he can not guarantee Man United will secure a Champions League berth according to the Daily Star.

Man United started the season in stuttering fashion but four wins on the bounce will have buoyed expectations, expectations the Dutch boss is keen to calm, stating of his side’s chances of a return to the Champions League;
“No, I don’t now expect to qualify for the Champions League because it is at the end of the season that counts.
“Now doesn’t count. We are going the right way, despite the injuries we’ve had.
“And I think the important thing is that the players want to follow the philosophy, which is why – despite the many changes – we could continue to go the right way.”
Indeed Man United’s run of injuries has been fairly horrific and perhaps the lows which David Moyes plumped during his brief reign have given van Gaal a level of padding and as such a top four finish would be considering something of an achievement and certainly one that seems within the club’s grasp.
