Manchester United could be set for more problems at the back, with central defender Chris Smalling looking set for another spell on the treatment table after limping out of United’s trip to Southampton this evening. The score is currently 1-1 on the South Coast after Graziano Pelle equalised following Robin van Persie’s only goal – but this injury to Smalling could prove to be a far bigger concern for van Gaal.
