The former Barcelona star has been training with United recently, and is allegedly set to sign a deal that will see him at Old Trafford on a more permanent basis.

Valdes is in the midst of a legal battle with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco however, with a dispute ongoing over wages owed.

The French team were set to sign the Spaniard before he suffered his ACL injury last season, and a pre-contract was agreed and signed. Monaco promptly cancelled the contract when news of his injury broke however, something which the Man United target feels is just not possible without some sort of payout.

The result of this law suit seems to imply that Monaco will continue to pay a portion of the Spanish internationals wages, meaning the Red Devils will have to pay only a small portion of his massive £150,000 per week salary.
