The Ligue 1 champions are keen to bring in more big names after signing some of the best players in the world in recent years, and Casillas is the latest high-profile signing on their agenda.

The 33-year-old may be somewhat past his best after a dip in his performances this season and last, but he remains a top target for both Arsenal and PSG as he looks likely to depart the Bernabeu after spending his entire career with Real.

Still, while Arsenal want a new goalkeeper, they may be unable or unwilling to compete with PSG financially, with Laurent Blanc’s side said to be lining up a long-term contract on a big salary for the veteran Spanish international.

This move is set to go through next summer, with Casillas reportedly told by Real president Florentino Perez that he can leave in 2015.
