Spurs join chase for Arsenal & Man City target.
Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to be linked with a move for highly-rated Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk in a £10m January move, according to the Daily Express.
The 23-year-old has been in top form this season for the Scottish champions, and his fine defensive play could see him become useful to a number of Premier League clubs as they look to improve in defence this January.
Arsenal have long been linked as admirers of the Netherlands international, but Tottenham now want to enter the running for his signature against their north London rivals, as well as other interested clubs such as Manchester City, Newcastle United and Southampton.
Spurs brought in some defenders in the summer but have not had the most convincing of starts to the season under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, who could continue his bid to revamp the first-team squad at White Hart Lane.
Van Dijk looks an ideal signing for a relatively cheap fee, but it remains to be seen which club will win the race to snap him up this winter.
