Jose Fonte gifts United the lead at Old Trafford.
Manchester United started slowly in the opening ten minutes of tonight’s Premier League game at Southampton, but they have been gifted the lead after a dreadful backpass by Saints centre back Jose Fonte. The Portuguese played a blind ball back to goalkeeper Fraser Forster which was intercepted by van Persie, who calmly slotted home beyond Forster. Are the Saints destined to slip back down the table on account of their dreadful recent form?
