Aaron Ramsey has insisted that under fire Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has the full backing of the entire dressing room and that criticism of the Frenchman is “unfair”.

Ramsey comments follow a tough few weeks for Wenger who was personally abused by a section of the Arsenal fans as he boarded a train after the Gunners 3-2 loss to Stoke at the weekend. This follows a banner being revealed during the North London side’s 1-0 win at West Brom a fortnight ago that called for Wenger to resign.

Ramsey, however, feels the criticism Arsenal’s longest serving manager has recently faced has been unwarranted.

“He has been under some unfair criticism, but we are all out there, are in it together,” said Ramsey, reports the Daily Telegraph.

“I think whenever we go into a game, he knows our qualities, always believes in us and gives us a great feeling going into games. Every time we go out there we are representing ourselves, our club and our manager.”

Currently, there is major divisions amongst Arsenal fans on the issue of Arsene Wenger and whether he should remain as manager.

Where some believe Wenger’s record speaks for means he should be afforded time, others believe the manager has continually under performed and Wenger is now unable to build or manage a team capable of a sustained title challenge.

However, according to Ramsey, who helped his side to a 3-0 win over Galatasaray with two goals, the players are all still believe in Wenger.

“We wanted to get the result for us and for him. Every player here wants to work hard for him, we have proven that again on Tuesday night.”
