Reports from Portugal have claimed that Blues have had scouts present at every one of Benfica’s games this season to keep an eye on the midfield starlet.

Their attendance at games is not only to check on the player’s progress, though, but also to scare off any prospective interest from elsewhere.

Chelsea are thought to be tempted to trigger Talisca’s £35m release clause but it is expected that Benfica could be persuaded to sell for less.

And Jose Mourinho will press ahead with a move to blow their competition out of the water with a huge bid.

French giants Marseille had also declared an interest in the player, but their scouts are believed to have disappeared weeks ago once they learned of the interest from west London.
