Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the young Frenchman.
Arsenal are monitoring the situation surrounding Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba with a view to making him their marquee signing in central midfield, report the Express, as Manchester City also line up a move for the stunning young midfielder who is valued at around £40 million by the Turin based club, such is his huge potential.
French international Pogba is the one that got away for Manchester United, with a lack of first team opportunities at Old Trafford having persuaded former Le Havre youngster Pogba to make the free transfer move to Juventus – where he has gone from strength to strength, winning three successive Serie A titles with the Old Lady.
It is inevitable that a young player of such high standing will be linked with moves to even richer clubs, however – as now appears to be happening with Pogba, with the Express report suggesting that Arsenal will move for Pogba if there is any suggestion that he is considering a move away from Serie A.
The Gunners are widely believed to be in need of a powerful central midfield – a position which Pogba would fill brilliantly for Arsene Wenger, whilst also offering significant quality going forwards.
