Arsene Wenger is hoping Arsenal can beat Liverpool to the signing of £18m Bundesliga star Henrikh Mkitaryan in January…

Arsenal are weighing up a January move for Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the Bundesliga side facing exodus following a woeful start to the season, reports the Express.

Dortmund landed the Armenian star in 2013, bringing him to the club from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk. He has struggled for form this season however, and could be on his way out of the German club in January.

The Yellow and Blacks have made a dreadful start to the season, with their domestic form finding themselves in and around the relegation zone. If they don’t do something to save their season soon, then the club could be facing a mass exodus in the near future.

Arsene Wenger’s priority in January will no doubt be a defender and a defensive midfielder, but if Mkhitaryan is available at the right price then the Frenchman may find the deal too good to pass up.

Liverpool are also allegedly interested in the midfielder, so Arsenal will be facing a battle for the signature of the £18m rated star.
