Gutierrez was given the all clear last month.

Newcastle United winger Jonas Gutierrez has returned to training at the club after being given the all-clear after battling testicular cancer last month, report the Mail, although the Argentine international is unlikely to be ready to return to first team action until well into 2015.

Gutierrez has hit out manager Alan Pardew for his treatment during his time battling cancer, with the Argentine reportedly told to find another club, but the former Norwich City loanee retains a fine relationship with the club’s fanatical supporters and is likely to receive an incredible ovation when he is able to return to the pitch.

The report suggests that this is unlikely to be until next year, but the fact that Gutierrez is set to return to training will come as great news for supporters who have been following his battle with illness during the last twelve months.

Once lauded as the first name on his teamsheet by former Argentina manager Diego Maradona, Gutierrez’s stock has fallen somewhat recently as he has drifted out of the first team picture at St. James’ Park, leading to a brief and unsuccessful loan spell with Chris Hughton’s Norwich City side.
