Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Joe Hart and James Milner are close to signing new deals at the club.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper is apparently close to signing a lucrative new five-year deal, with the England No.1 looking to remain the first choice at the Etihad Stadium for years to come.
City are also looking to fend off interest from Arsenal, tying Hart’s compatriot Milner down to a long term contract.

The Chilean boss also revealed that no decision had yet been reached over the future of veteran midfielder Frank Lampard, although the former Chelsea star has expressed a desire to stay with the club if possible.
This news comes on the back of City’s excellent display in the Champions League against Serie A side AS Roma, with a 2-0 win seeing the Premier League champions successfully qualify for the last 16 of Europe’s elite competition.
City’s European history is not great, but Pellegrini will be looking to remedy that this season.
