The 23 year old has been strongly linked with interest from Real Madrid despite his current contract running up until 2017 though it’s clear the west London side are keen to keep a firm hold of the former Lille man with a deal of as much as £200k a week said to be on the table.

Mourinho doesn’t appear to be fearful of losing one of his star performers, stating;

‘It will be done soon. But I’m not worried because they are almost there,’ he said.

Chelsea paid £32m for Hazard in the summer of 2012 and last term the talented attacker finished as the club’s leading goal-scorer and top assist maker and one can well see why Europe’s ‘Elite’ would be circling overhead.

The arrival of Diego Costa has helped to ease the goal-scoring burden whilst Cesc Fabregas is now the Blues chief assist maker though this hasn’t lessened Hazard’s importance.

Hazard has scored seven goals in all competitions this term.
