Tottenham are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Napoli defender Raul Albiol according to the Daily Express.

The Spanish international joined the San Paolo side in an £8m deal in July 2013 but is said to be the subject of talks between the Serie A side and White Hart Lane representatives.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to see Albiol as a viable replacement for Belgian Jan Vertonghen who is strongly linked with an imminent exit from the north London side.
Albiol made a name for himself at Valencia before moving to Real Madrid in 2009 but the centre-back was never a first team regular in his four years in the Spanish capital and was brought in by Rafa Benitez along with team-mates Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon.
Pochettino will see Albiol as an experienced and able performer who could boost the back-line of his hugely inconsistent side.
