The Frenchman was not able to give a return date for the duo, but did say that they should be out for a “few weeks.” Both players missed the win over Newcastle on Saturday with their respective injuries. Ramsey has a hamstring problem that he picked up against Galatasaray, and Koscielny needs to rest a long term achilles issue.

“Ramsey will be out for a few weeks and Koscielny as well,” he told reporters. “They will not be back next week.”

He also believes that his side have improved greatly since their 3-2 loss to Stoke City just over a week ago. However, the 65-year-old denied that his side are the most creative in the Premier League, after they have scored ten times in their last three matches.

“We try. I don’t think we are the most,” he explained. “It’s always the same in football – you try to attack to go forward and if you win everybody says well done, when you don’t win everybody says you’re not realistic enough.

“I think our target is to combine keeping our style and defending well as well – that’s what we did today.”

The Gunners will miss the pair as they look to improve after a slow start to the season which has left them outside of the top four.
