The Old Trafford side had keeper David de Gea to thank with the Spaniard keeping Liverpool at bay during a 3-0 win that perhaps flattered Man United.

De Gea kept out Sterling and Balotelli, among others, whilst Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Robin van Persie fired home to help Man United to beat their arch rivals with relative ease.

The win continues Man United’s good run of form but hard taskmaster van Gaal is still not entirely happy, stating;

“We have to improve but we are very pleased because we know how important it is to win against Liverpool,” Van Gaal told reporters. “Our cook is happy, my wife is happy so I am happy.”

“I think the most important match is the next match and we have to see match by match,“ he said.

“Of course we are winning six matches in a row [and it] is fantastic but we have to improve our play style. I say that every week.”
