Odegaard has become one of the most sought after young players in world football since breaking into the first team with Norwegian Tippeligaen outfit Stromsgodset at the age of just fifteen, whilst he has also made his senior debut for the Norwegian national time, with plenty of suggestions that he could become the nation’s best player ever.

Major clubs from across Europe have looked in to the possibility of signing Odegaard now that he has turned sixteen and is permitted to sign a contract, with English Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool both having allowed the teenager to tour their facilities and briefly train with them.

Odegaard’s mind appears to be remaining open, however, and representatives of Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim have now suggested that they have offered the player a deal and believe that their club could provide the ideal “stepping stone” for a player of Odegaard’s precocious talent ahead of a move to a bigger club:

“He is a phenomenon, but I seriously believe that we could be a very nice stepping stone for Martin.”
