City expected to let striker leave this January.

Manchester City seem set to let backup striker John Guidetti leave the club for a permanent move to Celtic this January, according to the Daily Record.

The young Swede has not managed to break into the first-team during his time at the Etihad Stadium, and has been loaned out to the Scottish Premiership champions this season.

Guidetti seems to have impressed sufficiently during his time in Glasgow that he now looks to be the subject of a £3m bid from the club, which has been accepted by City ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

This is likely to see the 22-year-old leave the club this winter, despite a lack of options upfront for Manuel Pellegrini’s side due to a recent injury to Sergio Aguero and some unconvincing form from the likes of Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic this season.

Still, Guidetti does not appear to be in the club’s plans and Celtic are now growing confident of signing him permanently.
