Gilberto was a key part of the Arsenal side that went invincible in 2004 and picked up an FA Cup in a trophy heavy six-year stint in north London.

The 38-year-old is without a club after leaving Atletico Mineiro and is looking at the next step in his career.

“Anything is possible,” he said. “It makes me happy when you have these offers, people see you have different ideas, you can contribute and it makes you happy and motivated,” he said.

“And it makes me want to learn from others, develop my knowledge and also develop my own style.”

However, the former Brazil international has not ruled out returning to the pitch as a player, though he realises at his age it may be difficult to realise that particular ambition.

“Anything is possible, I have not received any invitation here in Santa Catarina, I’ve had some offers to play again, but nothing here,” he said.

“The issue of rehabilitation is in the final stretch, but I’m open (to holding) a good conversation where everything can be solved.”
